2025 Water Wise Training for Landscaping Workers
Water Conservation Training for Staff of SALI Member Organisations
SAGIC is partnering with Rand Water and the South African Landscapers’ Institute (SALI) to deliver targeted, high-impact Water Wise training workshops. These sessions aim to promote water and environmental conservation practices across the landscaping industry.
Training Format
There are FOUR water wise workshops:
🪴 Hydrozoning & Plant Characteristics Workshop
🌱 Soils, Compost and Mulch Workshop
🚿 Irrigation and Watering Workshop
🌾 Wetlands and Biodiversity Workshop
TIMES for ALL workshops: 09h00 – 12h00
- Each topic will be delivered twice during the year.
- There are a total of 8 training sessions.
- There is no charge for workshops.
- SALI members may send as many delegates as they wish
- Each training workshop is expected to have a minimum of 30 delegates.
Venues
- Landscaping sites or suppliers
- Delegates are expected to transport themselves to the training venues.
Workshop content
Training workshops …
- Will be practical and relevant to everyday landscaping work.
- Are focused on reducing water waste.
- Are designed to help staff apply conservation techniques on site.
- Will assist landscapers to advise clients where appropriate.
- Will include industry best practices for water use efficiency in landscaping
- Are approved by Rand Water, SALI, and SAGIC.
A SAGIC Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all workshop participants. There are certificates for ALL four training topics.
